Five years ago I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. At that point, diabetes had me in defeat. I knew it was going to take everything I got to get back on my feet.

I was feeling all of the symptoms: constant thirst, frequent trips to the bathroom, blurry vision, neuropathic pain, like ants crawling all over me. I couldn't believe the power it had over me. It nearly killed me!

But I rose up to fight diabetes both on the inside and on the outside.
